Painting the Ork Warboss

The Ork Warboss is a very large creature he is the biggest of all the Orks and is therefore respected by all lesser Orks, The Warboss will stride into battle with his fellow Orks often clad in his own customized and often looted Wargear.

In this tutorial I will show you how to paint an Ork Warboss through a simple step by step guide.

1. The first step as always is to undercoat the warboss with Chaos black in order to allow other paints to set properly on the model.

2. We will begin by painting the Orks Skin this will be painted with dark angels green.

3. After the dark angels green has dried we will go over the raised areas of the skin with snot green to add a highlighting effect.

4. Now we will begin the armour of the ork we will paint the armour with Tin Blitz go over all the metal bars of the armour with this colour.

5. Once the armour has dried we will now drybrush the armour with Mithril Silver to add a highlight effect.

6. Now we will paint the Warboss' Power Claw and Bolter, Firstly we will paint the power claw with Tin Blitz before highlighting the blades of the Claw with Mithril Silver once this has dried we will paint a Black and White checker effect onto the panel of the claw, The various cables comming out of the claw we will paint with Blood Red.

7. Now we will paint the Ork's Bolter, for the bolter we will again use Tin Blitz before highlighting with mithril silver.

8. Now that we have finished the weapons we will paint the Orks trophy rack, the trophy will be painted very similar to the power claw, Tin Blitz, Mithril Silver and finally a black and white checker effect.

9. We will now paint the Orks boots with Chaos black and highlight with Fortress Grey also make sure to paint all metal details on the boots with Mithril silver.

10. The Orks trusers we will paint Scorched Brown before highlighting with a mix of 2:1 Skull White and Scorched Brown.

11. We will now finish the model by adding some finishing details firstly we will paint the eyes Blood Red, Next we will paint the teeth Bleached Bone and then add a was of Ogryn Flesh. The final detail we will add is a rust effect to the armour and weapons of the Ork we will achieve this effect by watering down Dwarf Bronze and washing it over the area's of metal.

Orks

This week I will be giving a brief analysis of anther race from the game Warhammer 40,000 and this race is the Orks.

The Orks are a very large and muscular alien creatures with green skin however they are not a very intelligent race. The Orks and indeed very primitive and are controlled by thousands of small tribes, they thrive on violence and war and love nothing more than a good fight, Orks have no other objective than to get geared up and start fighting anyone they can find.

The orks have a passion for looting vehicles, weapons and armour from other armies and will often be clad in armour stolen from many other armies as well as modified vehicles they have stolen from past battles. The Orks are dominated by the biggest Ork of the tribe usually known as the warboss directly below the Warboss is the "Nobz" these are the second largest Orks and take the form of commanders withing units, The smallest Orks are the most numerous and are known as the "Da Boyz"

Painting Eldar Wave Serpent

The Eldar Wave Serpent is the dedicated transport of the Eldar Army, The wave serpent is a lightly armoured transport vehicle which hovers above the ground. Armed with twin linked weapons the Wave Serpent packs quite a punch and can easily rip through infantry armour whilst zooming Eldar squads to the front line of the battle.

This guide will show you how to easily paint a Eldar Wave Serpent tank again we are going to use the colour scheme for the Eldar Craftworld Ulthwé which consists of the Bleached Bone, Chaos Black and Blood Red.

1. We will begin this time by undercoating the whole tank with Scorched Brown instead of Chaos Black this is because the majority of the model will be painted Bleached Bone which lies easier over Scored Brown rather than the more Harsh Chaos Black.

2. We will paint the almost all of the tank armour with bleached bone except for the small square area's on the two curves at the front of the tank which we will paint Chaos Black we will also paint the area below the twin linked weapons Chaos Black.

3. After adding a good few layers of bleached bone to the armour of the tank we will wash the whole tank with an Ogryn Flesh wash to add shadow in the recesses between the plates of armour.

4. Once the wash on the armour has dried we will add another layer of bleached bone to the armour but be very careful not to paint over the recesses which must remain Ogryn Flesh.

5. After we have finished the wash we will finish the Tank by adding a final detail by painting the gemstones with the same scheme we have used already for the War Walker and the Eldar Guardian Warriors.

Painting Eldar War Walker

The Eldar War Walker is a two legged scout vehicle piloted by an Eldar Warrior, The war walker has very weak armour and is easily destroyed however due to it's speed and weapons capabilities it is an excellent scout vehicle and can be equipped with a plethora of Eldar weapons each one unique.

1. We Will begin by undercoating the War Walker with Chaos black, as with the guardians we are going to apply the Craftworld Ulthé colours to this vehicle which consist of Chaos Black, Bleached Bone and Blood Red.

2. Once the Chaos Black undercoat has dried we will begin by drybrushing the edges of the vehicle with Fortress Grey to add a highlighting effect to the armour.

3. Once we have successfully drybrushed the black parts of the vehicle we will begin to paint some area's with Bleached Bone these are the feet and the weapons of the vechile.

4. Once the Bleached Bone areas have dried we will give them a wash of Ogryn Flesh to add an effect of shadow.

5. Finally we will finish the model by painting the small but numerous gemstones to add a finishing touch for these we will use the same scheme that we used for the guardians warriors which involved a blend going from Chaos black > Scab red > Blood red > Blazing Organge.
